Church History

“I will build my Church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” Matthew 16:18. With these words, our Lord Jesus Christ instituted that His people would always be found seeking to love and serve Him in communities. Victory Missionary Baptist Church exists because of His faithfulness to His Word. Victory was organized into an independent Missionary Baptist Church on November 3, 1973. As a temporary location, members worshiped in a Community Building in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, and later moved to a building on Old Hickory Boulevard in Madison, TN. With the Lord’s Blessing, the Church grew and needed a larger sanctuary. In 1981, two tracts of land were purchased on Gallatin Road in Hendersonville, Tennessee and the Church construction was soon under way. On February 28, 1982, Victory Church held its first service in the new building at 457 East Main Street in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and the Lord continues to bless us as a lighthouse to this community.
Our Beliefs
The inspiration, authenticity, inerrancy and authority of the Bible. (2 Tim. 3:16,17; 2 Peter 1:20,21)
The absolute sovereignty of the Triune God. (Rom. 11:33-36; Eph. 1:3-14)
The essential deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His vicarious death and His physical resurrection.
(John 1:1-18; 1 Cor. 15:1-5)
Salvation is by the grace of God alone, on the basis of the atoning sacrifice of Christ and wholly apart from human merit. (Eph. 2:1-10; Titus 3:4-7)
The only valid solution to the manifold evils in present-day human society is to be found in the gospel of Christ, which is "the power of God unto salvation to everyone who truly believes it." (Rom. 1:16-17)
God commands all people to repent and to believe the gospel. (Act 17:30, 31; Luke 24:44-49)
That the church is composed solely of repentant and believing sinners who have experienced the new birth and submit to his rule and authority through the local Church in Believers Baptism. (Acts 2:41-47; 20:28; John 3:1-16; Eph. 4:1-16)
That Christians have the solemn obligation to conduct themselves at all times in a manner worthy of the gospel they profess to believe. (Col. 3:12-17)
